LogicMonitor can monitor batch jobs on Windows and Linux/Unix systems, to ensure jobs are started on time, complete when expected, and exit with the exit code expected.
The monitoring occurs by using a supplied wrapper to enclose the batch jobs. The wrapper sends signals to a LogicMonitor collector about the jobs, which passes them to the LogicMonitor servers.
There are two steps in setting up monitoring of batch jobs:
- defining the batch job monitoring datasource
- running the batch job within a wrapper
Once a batch job monitor datasource is defined and associated with a host, the status of the batch jobs will be visible in the Host view. Any alerts will show in the alert panel.
